Cultural Canon films available online

The National Library of Latvia has announced September as the Latvian Cultural Canon Month and the National Film Centre of Latvia has joined the promotion of Latvian cultural treasures by making available all 12 Latvian Cultural Canon´s films free of charge through the portal filmas.lv: Lāčplēsis (1930), Baltie zvani (1961), Purva bridējs (1966), Četri balti krekli / Elpojiet dziļi (1967), Nāves ēnā (1971), Ceplis (1972), Ābols upē (1974), Vanadziņš (1978), Vecāks par 10 minūtēm (1978) Limuzīns Jāņu nakts krāsā (1981), Vai viegli būt jaunam? (1986) and Šķērsiela (1988).

The Latvian Cultural Canon is compiled as a treasure trove containing the most important cultural achievements of all times. The Latvian Culture Canon consists of 99 cultural treasures in seven areas (Architecture and Design, Cinema, Literature, Music, Stage Art, National Traditions, Visual Arts).
